DLMM bins

Meteora’s Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker (DLMM) organises liquidity into discrete bins. Each bin holds liquidity at one fixed price, and trades inside a bin have zero slippage. Only the active bin, the one containing the current price, trades and earns fees.

When a trade empties the active bin, price moves to the next one. Bins below the active bin hold the quote token and bins above it hold the base token.

Bin step

The bin step is the price gap between neighbouring bins, in basis points. A bin step of 10 means each bin is 0.10% apart. Small steps suit stable and major pairs; large steps suit volatile tokens.

Liquidity shapes

How you spread liquidity across bins is the position’s shape. Invictus previews each shape before you deploy.

Spot

An even spread across the range. Works in most markets and is the easiest to manage.

Each bar is a bin with one fixed price. Only the active bin (red) trades and earns fees. Bins to its left hold USDC, bins to its right hold SOL.

Curve

Concentrated around the current price. Earns the most when price is calm, and suits stable pairs.

Bid-Ask

Weighted toward the edges of the range. Useful for capturing volatility, or for buying and selling into a move like a ladder of limit orders.

DLMM pools also charge a dynamic fee that rises with volatility, so LPs earn more when the market is moving fastest.
